IRVINE, Calif., July 19, 1995 -- Continuus Software Corporation, the fastest-growing provider of software change and configuration management solutions, today announced the appointment of three new executives to the company's management team. Phil Ressler, John J. Laskey and Alexander Hennequin will join Continuus Software as Vice President of Marketing, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of European Operations, respectively. Ressler joins Continuus as Vice President of Marketing from Gupta Corporation where he was most recently Vice President of Corporate Marketing. Laskey comes to Continuus as Vice President of Finance and CFO after nine years with FileNet Corporation. Hennequin, who recently started in Continuus' London office, joins the company as Vice President of European Operations from Legent Corporation where he was Vice President of European Sales for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

"The proven track records behind these three individuals from leading software vendors makes them ideal additions to our executive management team," said John Wark, president and CEO of Continuus Software. "We now have the management depth to accelerate our growth as we expand the market for configuration management to Windows developers."

About Phil Ressler

Ressler assumes his position as Vice President of Marketing at Continuus this week, where he will oversee all corporate and product marketing activities for the company worldwide, including the upcoming roll-out of Continuus' Windows versions of Continuus/PT and Continuus/CM products.

"The complexity of client/server development is creating demand for software that can make the development, deployment and maintenance of applications more orderly," said Ressler. "Continuus will expand the market for CM beyond its traditional UNIX boundaries through programs that build developer enthusiasm and secure the endorsements of management."

Ressler joins Continuus from Gupta Corporation where he was Vice President of Corporate Marketing. Ressler repositioned Gupta as an application development and deployment provider and architected a dramatic expansion of developer evaluations for Gupta's client/server tools and database products. He drove a broad initiative to improve Gupta's market performance, resulting in the launch of new versions of SQLWindows and SQLBase with sharply improved usability, low-cost trial packages and the highest revenues in the company's history.

Prior to Gupta Corporation, Ressler was Director of Marketing Communications at Lotus Development Corporation and Vice President of Marketing for Nantucket Corporation, where he sparked a four-fold increase in unit sales and revenues.

Ressler holds a master of arts degree from the University of Connecticut and a bachelor's degree in political science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

About John J. Laskey

In the position of Chief Financial Officer, Laskey oversees all aspects of the company's financial operations. Laskey also serves as the corporate secretary for Continuus.

Until recently, Laskey was Vice President, Controller and Principal Accounting Officer for FileNet Corporation where he was a key member of FileNet's initial public offering team. During his nine year tenure at FileNet, Laskey managed the company's accounting and financial operations while revenues increased from $11 million to $178 million. He was also responsible for negotiating multiple commercial bank credit facilities as well as implementing global cash management, foreign exchange and tax strategies.

Before joining FileNet, Laskey held the position of Treasurer at Alpha Microsystems where he negotiated the acquisition of several high technology service providers.

Laskey holds a master's in business administration from Loyola University of Chicago and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois.

About Alexander Hennequin

As Vice President of European Operations at Continuus, Hennequin is responsible for all European business operations including sales, distribution and technical support.

Prior to joining Continuus, Hennequin was Vice President at Legent Corporation, where he was responsible for sales in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. While in his European post, Hennequin reorganized the sales and technical support organizations in addition to establishing an indirect distribution channel program.

Additionally, at Legent, Hennequin integrated the indirect channels of Duquesne Systems, Spectrum Technologies, Goal Systems and CMA as well as other indirect sales organizations belonging to the number of smaller companies acquired by Legent.

Previously, Hennequin was Regional Director at Marino Associates and earlier Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Uniface, Amsterdam where he set up an international distribution network to sell Uniface, an application development tool for UNIX-oriented RDBMSs.
